Good Eats Wednesday

The Bison Burger

The Bison Burger with added avocado
and a side of sweet potato fries.

offered at Burger Me! in Truckee, California.

The Menu.

The opinion...

While I admit I was turned on by the idea of trying a bison burger,
I noticed no difference in the taste of meat compared to a regular beef burger.
Next time, I will just get a regular burger
for a few bucks less and add chedder, avocado, and bacon- crispy

I admit I gave up cheeseburgers for a few years,
but since working near The Cheesecake Factory,
I have become ADDICTED to the Classic Burger.

(Oh, and McDonald's classic cheeseburgers still get me every once in a while, there is something about those little sauteed onions, except getting one is a rareity because I know 15 minutes later I will feel sick.)

But now it's hard to compare to my Classic Burger.

Who makes your favorite Burger?

Bon appetit!

  1. That looks so delicious...and I do love a good burger... There's a place in Cambridge, MA that makes the best burgers, oh and they name them after famous people..hilarious :) The place is called Bartley's.

  2. Bonjour! Merci for visiting the other day. J'adore your Tiffany ornaments. I've got to go to check them out!

  3. I really need a burger right now....that looks sooo good..I think bison is actually way better for you I know that buffalo is, maybe thats way they offer that alternative???

  4. That look sooooo good! One of my favs - cause there are plenty - is Burger Meister in San Francisco. Yum!

  5. that looks so yummy. Omg. I love a good big burger every now & again. There's a place called Johnny Rockets that's kinda like a 50's style mini restuarant and they have a ranch dressing burger with cheese and onion rings on top and it's just so good. and I'm a sucker for White Castle. Those lil onions too get me all the time. I've never tried bison, it's funny how all the meats kinda taste the same. aww looks like you had fun!! I'm glad!! =)

  6. Gosh, you just tugged at my heart and stomach with that delicious looking burger. I just ate, now I'm hungry again!!!...Makes me want to go to "Wimpys" in Greenfield Tenn. for a burger. They do a One pound burger patty hamburger with all the fixins for about $5 bucks, and the best onion rings. Also cute pictures of that green lizard...Take care XOXO

  7. oh my...I love your new are lovely! I crave hamburgers but I am not really a meat eater so I like mine with a thin patty of meat and all the extras! Thanks for visiting me!

  8. Oh, I'm so out of my league in the burger discussion. I don't think I've ever MET a burger as magnificent as the one you shared... perhaps I need to get up off the couch and go for broke.

Your yellow wallpaper makes me really happy. Would it make you nervous if I did my kitchen to match? :)

  9. I'm feeling hungry anyway, now I'm totally ravenous.

I laughed so much with your comment, that was seriously funny. Pleased your mum thought it was funny too ... :o

  10. I love a big, old-fashioned burger. The classic is my favorite. Here in my town, The Green Iguana serves the best burgers EVER. If you're ever in Tampa, you must try one. The restaurant has a great beachy feel to it as well. Really laid-back.

P.S. LOVE the picture of you... beautiful eyes!

  11. I make my own burger sometimes . . . but . . . "burger me, too, please..." :)

  12. Oh goodness you are making me hungry this morning! I love a bacon burger with no cheese since I am lactose intolerant. Yummy!

  13. I'm a vegetarian but those sweet potato fries look amazing! My favorite burgers are the ones from Uno's. Yes it's a chain, but they can make any burger on the menu with a fresh veggie and rice pattie and it's delish!

  14. OMG, that looks amazing!!! Especially the sweet pots fries. I'm so addicted to those bad boys. : )
