Olympic Gold Medal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Made by Mom

I know everyone brags that their mom makes the best cookies. Probably because many moms follow the Nestle Tollhouse recipe on the back of the chocolate chips package. But my mom, the forever health-nut, loves to add a cup of oatmeal, a cup of Craisins, and a cup of chopped almonds. I'm so craving her cookies right now. Since she moved to a higher altitude within the past six months and is not used to baking in new conditions, she has been practicing to get her cookies just right. Here is a text pic she sent me few weeks back... to which I replied that they looked flat. I know... with her I'm brutally honest. Sort of like the way she tells me my rear is 'gorda.' That's just the loving relationship we have.

Here is one she made for my step-father on Valentine's.
(Excuse the blurry image... my still life shots are better than hers.)

Looking a little better mom, still a little overcooked on the edges.
You have a couple more days of practice runs to get it just right before I fly across country to visit.
I'm expecting a Gold Medal effort.

(All joking bantor is made in jest.)

Mom, your cookies are still the best.
Can't wait to see you.

Bon appetit!

  1. These sound great Colette honey! I have been trying to catch a little of the Olympics when I can. So sad about the Luge athlete. How are you doing with your novel? I haven't touched mine since December. I am working on revision for Spring Break and possibly Summer. Hope you are doing well honey! Kori xoxo

  2. I think I will need to give these a try!

  3. haha...
honesty is the best policy, especially to family members~

  4. Yum! Tell Mom that I will take her cookies any way even flat! haha....:) xxoo

  5. Aww! Moms are the best :) Thank you for the super nice comment on my blog!
