World's Most Expensive Hot Dog

Serendipty 3, New York

Recorded in the Guiness Book of World Records for The Most Expensive Hot Dog in the World at Serendipity 3 in New York City, priced at $69. At 12 inches long, this pure beef "Haute Dog" is grilled in white truffle oil, placed in a pretzel bun toasted with white truffle butter. For toppings, this dog comes with duck foie gras with black truffles. Side condiments include: black truffle Dijon mustard, carmelized Vidalia onions, and heirloom tomato Ketchup. Sounds rich, doesn't it?! (Read more HERE.)

(Speaking of truffles... I had Truffle French Fries at The Capital Grille for my birthday... fantastico!)

Bon appetit!!

4-Ingredient Potato Salad

An Easy Summer Side Dish

Nothing pleases me more than creating a hit dish from leftovers. I for one, don't like leftovers. It limits my creativity in the kitchen, and with a small household, that means I have to make a very small amount of food, and more frequently. So recently I've been creating a way to reuse leftovers that changes the taste completely. I'm not a picky eater, but very discerning as to what will impress my tastebuds. And you know how it goes... food just always seems to taste better when someone else makes it. So when I actually create something that I feel is good enough to share, that's exactly what I want to do...

So enjoy this refreshing and easy summer side dish!

Blue Cheese Russet Potato Salad
Serves 2-4

6-8 red Russet Potatoes
4 tbsp lite sour cream
4 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
4 tbsp fresh chopped tarragon
pinch of kosher or sea salt, and a dash of pepper

First I followed a recipe from Alex's Day Off, from the Food Network for simple roasted potatoes. Roast red potatoes for 30 min at 375 degrees with nothing except salt and bay leaves in a dish with a lid. Because my potatoes were refrigerated from last night, they were already cold. So I added 2 tbsp of fat free sour cream, 2 tbsp of blue cheese crumbles and 2 tbsp fresh chopped tarragon and chopped up 3 medium sized red russet potatoes and combined in a small bowl. Added kosher salt to taste. This made 1-2 servings.

Bon appetit!

Travel Thursday

Austria
(Re-Post Summer 09)

Last summer I blogged about Austria... and while I haven't had as much time as I like to dedicate to my blog, because of building my website and planning actual travel itineraries for PHOTOgraphy Getaways, (yes, a kind of work I just love) I thought I would repost some of my favorites with an updated spin.

Today, I bought the DK Eyewitness Travel book on Austria. I'm so excited about one of our workshops next September to be hosted in Austria. I've got some exciting excursions planned for the workshop like visiting the salt mines, lake boat rides, and of course authentic regional cuisine...

Innsbruck, Austria.
Vienna by day.

Vienna by night.

In the Tirol mountains.

Salzburg, Austria.

More of Salzburg.

After visting Versailles last spring, I read the biography of Marie Antoinette, I'm so enthralled to visit the region of Austria where she grew up and her mother, Maria Therese, once reigned.

The Imperial Collections of the Habsburgs (Marie Antoinette's family, decedent of the Habsburg Dynasty) at the Kunsthistorisches Museum near Schonbrunn Palace.

Painting of Maria Theresa at Schonbrunn. (Mother of Marie Antoinette.)

This fabulous dress is on display at the Palace.

Other places of interest: The Opera House, The Vienna Residence Orchestra and take a Sound of Music tour to see where the Von Trapp family lived, (all in Vienna).

Happy Traveling!

Blogiversary!

Zurich, Switzerland

Keukenhof Gardens, Holland
(Handpainted apron with artist name same as mine!)
I bought one of course. :)

It dawned on me that my One Year Blogiversary passed this week,
and I wanted to give a BIG Thank You to everyone who has come to visit this past year!
It was been an amazing road that has led to many great and exciting things to come.
While I regret I don't have as much leisure as I did in the past to spend all day
visiting other blogs like I wish I could.
(I had my own private office last year...which is not the case this summer... shh!)
But I do visit often, although the commenting is not everyday.

Thanks to everyone for sticking with me!
Your encouragement and friendship has done wonders for my soul.

Sending much love & hugs,

xoxo-

Rice Krispy Treats & Margaritas

It's been weeks since I've spent time in the kitchen...
because we've been so busy traveling,
celebrating birthdays, starting the new business...
oh and I joined the gym this week too.
Now I'm too sore to even move!
So after a relaxing morning on the couch watching the Food Network,
I was inspired to go grocery shopping...
even though hungry at the time,
(you know how that goes-bought way too much food).
.
I planned on a lovely outdoor photography setup
for outdoor entertaining this evening,
but the South Florida thunderstorms had others plans for me.
So I apologize for the grainy photo and horrendous lighting...

On The Menu

Dinner: Smoked Applewood Rub Pork Loin
with Dijon broth
Onions & Russet Potatoes
Topped with Fresh Parsley & Tarragon

Drinks: Margaritas with Fresh Lime

Dessert:  Rice Krispy Treats
mixed with Chocolate & Butterscotch Chips

Hope Everyone Had a Lovely Weekend!

Rococo Inspired

Isola Bella, Italy & Vizcaya Mansion, Miami

While browsing through my photos from past travels in preparation for

PHOTOgraphy Getaways...

I've found many beautiful pics that have long been forgotten.
It's always fun to look through old photos that take you back,
especially when they bring such good memories.

The above images were taken on Isola Bella, which is a mansion on it's own private island
with a Rococo fashion on Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy.

The Vizcaya Mansion in Miami (below) was modeled after Isola Bella and is a treasure all on it's own as well...

Interested in the Vizcaya Mansion?
Stay tuned... it will be on the itenerary as part of our winter workshop in Miami for

PHOTOgraphy Getaways

More information very soon...

Have a great week!

7/11 Birthday Girl

Today is my 28th birthday!

What a year 27 was...

I began my blog a week after my birthday last year and it has given me so much. Last year was 'the summer of blogging and Etsy'. It was all so wonderful to meet many friends and network, and inspire each other with creativity. But life happens, things get busy, people move on, and trends fade. But the good qualities of commitment, creativity, and goal achieving would not have been as heavily enforced in my own life without the social networking and friendships through "leaving comments". I have met SO SO many encouraging women who have inspired beyond belief, and had it not been for being surrounded by this environment, I would have never known so many women with their creative success in professions they love.

This year has not been all sunshine and roses though, it has had more challenges that really give cause for the phrase, "don't sweat the small stuff", to which I don't... anymore.
So, if I could give 27 one word it would be... GROWTH.

I think it's the year, I've finally grown confident in my own skin,
and really gotten to know myself.
That said, I am VERY excited about 27 leading to 28...
because this week I've received my business licenses for something I'm passionate about,
and can't wait to see what kind of exciting new adventures will come from it.

Thank you to EVERYONE who made this year and day very special!
(Blog pals, friends, family, & my boyfriend.)

Here are some photos of my year in a wrap and those who made it special to me...

getting creative on Etsy

my big photo card order on Etsy

actually meeting my idol... Giada

loving my princess Sage

all the adventures of sharing my life with Jason

my wonderful mom for all her support & love

my dad for all his encouragement & belief in me

my grandmother for all her warmth, selflessness, & unforgettable memories

& self discovery...

P.S. Thanks to Powerball too... who honored my birthday by picking numbers 27 and 28 last night on my transition eve, which numbers I had selected... but I think they picked the wrong person in Florida to give the rest of the numbers to. That $70 million sure would have been the icing on the cake!

Garden Dreams

From Our Ohio Getaway

A private little cabin, fireworks,
roasted marshmellows,
hot dogs on the fire...
who could ask for a better 4th of July?

Well MY attention was focused on this charming garden,
it was everything I craved this spring!

Have a blooming day!
